The release of the packages for safe_app_java will enable developers to create desktop and mobile applications for the SAFE network on the Java platform. The Java packages will open the doors for a number of potential apps that can be built for SAFE using Java as the platform for development.
The Java packages packages will extend support for both desktop and mobile platforms. In case of the desktop the supported platforms are Linux, Windows and OS X. Importantly, support will be extended only for x64 architectures. The desktop package for java support would be in JAR format. For mobile platforms, support would be extended for the Android platform. This package would be in AAR format.
Sample application for the network should be built for the desktop and mobile platforms. These sample applications along with the API documentation and the tutorials would give developers a clear understanding of how one should approach development of an application on the SAFE network.
